WordExpress has immediate openings for the following in-house positions in our offices in Santa Monica (Los Angeles area):

 

A) Office Manager

The right person has a good general education, a BA or MA, preferably in business administration, linguistics or a related subject, and some experience in bookkeeping, finance or office management. S/he will possess excellent written and oral language skills in English and at least one major foreign language, preferably Spanish.  S/he should have superior organizational skills and be extremely versatile.

WordExpress is willing to provide immigration sponsorship for living and working in the United States for the right candidate.

As an Office Manager you are in charge of the office facility and operations at WordExpress. You take care of the daily finances, bookkeeping, accounts receivable & payable, and banking. You process all incoming mail, and maintain all files and records organized. You maintain a professional and pleasant work environment and make sure that the office runs smoothly, and that all office policies and procedures are followed properly.

B) Linguistic Manager

The right person has a good general education, a BA or MA, preferably in linguistics or a related subject. S/he will possess educated native speaker capability in both Spanish and English, and possibly be proficient in one or more additional languages. S/he should have superior organizational skills, as s/he acts as a liaison between Client Care and Project Management. S/he also needs to be extremely versatile, as s/he has to step into different departments and handle special projects.

As Linguistic Manager you are in charge of three areas:

a.) Linguistic quality control, including formatting and structural review, proofreading, editing and translating (in the languages you are proficient in); implementing and managing Trados.

b.) Advertising for, recruiting, managing and supervising 6 – 12 interns.

c.) Filling in as a back-up Client Care (Marketing & Sales) Manager; developing specific marketing projects.

C)  Interns

Full-time/part-time internships are available at WordExpress for educated persons from all countries, including the U.S.  If you are from a foreign country, you should be fluent in English; if you are from the U.S., you should be fluent in one foreign language.

The intern positions are especially suited for students and/or natives of foreign countries who wish to learn about the American business culture in general, and about all aspects of an established translation company in particular.

At the end of the internship you will receive a Certificate and a Letter of Recommendation. The internship may lead to a full-time in-house position. Qualified candidates from foreign countries may be sponsored by WordExpress to live and work in the United States.
